Hello everybody,
Sorry again for not writing. I spoke too soon in my last blog, saying that this chemo was better than the first. Well, there defiantly is incredible news, but not without a price. The doctor examined me and could hardly believe that the tumor AND the lymph nodes have almost disappeared. Its amazing news, I think even for him. My question that followed all the excitement was, 'so does that mean I don't have to do the other 2 chemos?' His answer was 'sorry, its procedure, kind of like taking certain medicines, you just have to finish them.' Then I asked 'so does that mean we won't have to do a mastectomy?' And he said ' we will have to talk to the surgeon, but I think it would be best.' I told him to do what he needs to do, that I would rather just get rid of any possibility of cancer returning.
Wow, its disappearing, Great news though, aye!!!!!!
The only thing that the doctor said was that this chemo stuff is not just killing the cancer cells...as the doctor put it, its slowly killing me. After I wrote my last blog (I wasn't feeling really good) but it got worse. I started vomiting and had a loose stomach. It got so bad, I couldn't even drink a sip of water without it causing me to run to the bathroom and vomit...violently. sheesh, no fun. I called the doctor on call and he recommended some drops and they seemed to help for half a day, but it just was too much. I had to go the clinic and get an IV. The room was all set up by our beautiful friend Cynthia, who has taken care of all the doctor appointments and insurance issues...a great and amazing worker...plus she is the nicest person. But we had to go through the emergency side first and so they set me up with the IV and all...the only bummer was that the girl did NOT know how to put an IV in my 'port'...Jenna almost fainted (had to leave and have a cotton ball with alcohol on it to stop her from fainting...I think it was good she almost fainted and had to leave because the girl really made it hurt and Jenna was getting upset that the girl kept trying but wasn't gentile... OUCH!!!!!! It hurt sooo bad (probably hasn't done many port IV's the poor girl), I asked if they could do it somewhere else... its in my arm as I write. Yep, I'm still here. One night turned into three so far.
But you know, I had asked God to please give me wisdom on what to do and I love it, he put me in the best of care...my room is great too and Jenna has stayed every single night with me here. Pedro has been amazing letting her come stay here with me, him alone with two boys...thank you Pedro, my hero. I have had the chance to cultivate a few friendships around here too, which my purpose is to love on them and be a testimony of God's love for them. Tomorrow (if I leave tomorrow) a lot of people get some SEE's chocolates. I asked Robert to bring some back from his trip just to give them to all these nice people. That was another thing. Robert and Taylor went to the states for a few days, thinking everything was going smoothly...second chemo...they fixed the mix...all would be smooth sailing.
Poor guy, he felt soooo bad being gone...I got a nice room here though :) He doesn't need to worry, he will get many more opportunities, at least two more. Looks like I am going to be in the clinic for a few days every time I do chemo from now on. They want to keep a close watch on me and make sure the chemo does what its supposed to do...kill the cancer, not me :)
Well, hopefully one more night here and then I can go home. Its been fun with Jenna. And my Chana has come to visit...like I said in my last blog.
God takes all things and works it out for the good. There is ALWAYS something good with God in our lives....I love Him soooo much for that!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually sit here with tears of joy in my eyes just thinking about how much He loves me. You know, I would be totally false if I tried to give the impression that I have been full of joy, happy happy happy during all this. That doesn't exactly describe my 'feelings' while I am vomiting. But I CAN say, that even when I didn't 'feel' like God was with me or that I had happy feeling, doesn't mean that I know that I know that I know that God is still on the throne and that He has ALWAYS loved me first. I will rest in that all the days of my life!!!!!!
I love you all...big hugs to all...karyn

Karyn
